Day 94

Well, I totally spaced posting last night, my bad.

Yesterday, I helped judge Gathering of the Talents creative writing entries. It was fun, and a nice distraction... And I gave a couple purple ribbons. :)

Day 93

Today, I gave my friend in the previous post a heartbox present. I'm not sure I've ever given anyone outside of my roommate a heartbox present. Until today, and 3pm. I was eating a sucker in class...first of all, I don't normally eat suckers, but I had one in my backpack and just felt like it today. When I looked over at my friend, he just looked sad. So I tried to smile at him, with a sucker in my mouth. Yes, I'm sure I looked quite silly. I know what you're thinking, and no, I did not give him my sucker which I had already been sucking on. I smoothed out the wrapper. And I wrote a little note. I don't remember exactly what I wrote, but I told him it was a heartbox present, and that he had to keep it forever. (yeah...) And I told him that he could pull out that silly sucker wrapper and remember the girl that smiled at him through a sucker... and in turn remember the day that he was feeling down in the dumps and that he had overcome that day. I know he kept it. And I know he'll pull it out once in a while.

Day 92

Today I found out a friend of mine has a group that "hates him." My first instinct was fury, who does that? I mean, I have people I don't particularly care for, but who would collectively delete someone from facebook and refuse to talk to them? I was shocked. And I couldn't do anything about it, I don't really know these people. So I gave him a hug, and I told him that his group of people that love him is way huger and way more powerful.

Days 90 and 91

Day 90:

My friend Sara came to see me on her way back to school after spring break. It was lovely. And then I put her up for the night! So she got to stay here, and I got to talk to her more. I can't even tell you how wonderful that was. The perfect end to a rocky week.

Day 91:

I helped with the emergency response test that was held today. Aka: I was a victim and had to do my first acting job... it's was actually fun, in a morbid kind of way.

Day 89

I gave a friend some advice about some stuff.... and I'm not going to go into more details than that. I just hope he prays over these decisions he's going to be making.

Day 88

Well... I gave my friend Sara a hug, and then she whispered in my ear, "I really needed that today." So that was sweet...

I was able to make someone laugh that needed it today...by doing something stupid, on accident, so I guess that's one of the best ways to make someone laugh. I laughed too, so it was all good.

And I helped some friends figure out what their poems meant! Even though my remains kindly in the dark.

Day 87

Today, I gave one of my professors a hug. I know, that's generally not good form, but she really looked emotionally drained today...and like she just needed one. And then I realized that I needed it, too. There was a releasing of burdens, at least on my part, and not in a dumping way, in a breathless way.

I also gave my roommate another Reeses today. :)

Day 86

Today I drove a friend to Walmart.

I tried not to be too annoyed about a stain on my shirt... not sure how well I did with that one.

I helped a friend figure out what she was doing with an essay...sort of.

I provided a place for a friend to complain a little.

I laughed with my roommate. yeah.

I gave my roommate a Reeses! Yum!

Day 85

I went to church in Lincoln today with two of my friends. I was their ride. I also took them to the mall so that one of them could get shoes for a wedding. While I would have loved to have been able to meet up with my friend that lives in Lincoln, instead I spent my lunch time with these two goofs (whom I love as well).

Day 84

Well, I spent most of my day in bed reading... When everyone told me "The Hunger Games" would eat my life... I didn't think that it would actually be true.

After I finished the book...ha...my day actually started.

I was able to spend the evening with my roommate, which was pretty grand. I love roomie-dates, they're the best.

Day 83

I played Mafia tonight with some friends after midnight, not my usual cup of tea. Well, I saved my friend Josh and I tried to save Heidi....but then Josh died because he was attacked a second time! I did try though.

I did give my support of the engagement of two friends.... I'm so excited for them!

Day 82

Despite how much reading I have to do (the list just keeps getting longer) I was able to spend some time listening today. And I think listening is just pretty awesome.

I spent some time before lunch with my friend, Cole. He and I hadn't really caught up much after Christmas break... and while it was only an hour, it was good to hear what's been going on in his life. Hopefully this will be happening more often. I just really enjoy our conversations, there's always laughter. And laughing is just what I needed today.

This evening, in the midst of my homework adventure, my friend Steph stopped by the room. It was nice to be able to talk to her as a kind of oasis in the madness because I am roommate-less again tonight. A pleasant break, and I just love listening to her rant about classes and how much she just wants to read and write and not worry about other things. I couldn't agree more with her.

And now, the adventure must continue.

Day 81

Yesterday was kind of a crazy day. Yes. I've been swamped with reading assignments. But, I did spend some time with my friend Claire, despite that, and I did still go to Bible Study.

I may have gotten a group member for a project to actually read the material (which will relieve the stress of another group member, which is good.)

Yeah. Off to do more reading!

Day 80

(Typing the title of this post made me think of that movie about going around the world in 80 days...and yeah. I've never seen the new one, maybe I should do that sometime...)

Okay, so yesterday I spent some time with Heidi and Heather, who are absolutely fantastic. We had a lot of fun just hanging out and watching some One Tree Hill. (Yes, this is my guilty pleasure that I share with these two phenomenal women.)

In my poetry class I gave some feedback...which I normally do, but I guess I was being particularly silent, and my prof kept looking down at my end of the table asking if any of us had anything to say (cue looking down at Anna). Eventually I did give in. Lisa, if you're reading this, I wasn't annoyed one bit, I guess I needed the nudge yesterday.

Day 79

Well, I've been distributing cupcakes today. Haha! That's been fun.

I also gave my roomie some Reeses.

And since it's the first day back from break, lots of hugs. It was great.

Today was a big day.

I went to my Gramma's house to return some books and pick up some stuff that she wanted to get rid of.

I drove my mom around.

I finished getting desserts ready for Josef's boy scout event.

And I helped my Grandpa get some soup for Grandma.

Today was family day. We went out of town and did some shopping. It was a lot of fun. It's nice to spend time with the folks and brother. And now spring break is coming to a close...and I really don't want it to. *sigh*

Day 76

Well, I didn't sleep much on Friday night. I couldn't fall asleep...until after 4 am. And then I had to get my hair cut at 8:30, so yeah, not much sleep. Despite that, I:

Went to the grocery store with Mom to help her get the things on her list since she can't do it alone anymore. I pushed the cart and grabbed stuff off the shelves.

I made two batches of cupcakes for my brother's boy scout soup supper. I made cookies and cream cupcakes and peanut butter with chocolate cupcakes. They turned out pretty good.

I made the twice baked potatoes for supper. (At this point, I was ready to drop dead from exhaustion.)

And then, after a nap on the couch during the family movie (sad day), I made this other dessert cheesecake thing for the soup supper.

Yeah. It was a productive day... and I didn't do the homework I was planning on, but that's okay.

(I also wasn't able to sleep again last night. *sigh*)

Day 75

Today was an exuberantly good day.

I spent it with my mom. We went and got coffee, chatted for a while. And then we went shopping. There was no bickering, no stress, only success. (We were both absolutely shocked by this, normally shopping is absolutely painful.)

So yes. It was a good day. (Even if I didn't get to see my brother much...like, at all.)

Day 74

Well, I loaded the dishwasher and helped tidy up the living room. My brother has a friend staying with us for the next few days, so we've been in "mad cleaning mode." Josef has done most of it, since mom is out of commission, and I was sick. But yesterday I was able to help a bit.

And I talked on the phone with a friend for probably two hours. So yeah, that was good.

Day 73

I rented a couple movies for the family to watch, they were pretty good. We watched Megamind, and Life As We Know It. Megamind was great, LawKi was good....and don't feel like I need to watch it again.

Days 71 and 72

Day 71:

Was still sick, so stayed away from people, again. *sigh*

Day 72:

Am still sick, but I cleaned up all the DVDs for my brother today. It looked like a grenade had hit our TV stand. And now it looks like a cleaning wizard went through. Yeah. :)

Days 68 and 69 and probably 70...

Well, I'm home now, and the reason I haven't been posting the last couple of days is because I have influenza. Yeah. And it's horrible. I have been trying to limit my interactions with others.

I would like to say that without my roommate, I don't know what condition I would have been in on Friday... she made sure I had everything I needed to be comfortable. She was a blessing. (Thank you, LeAnn. Now, go drink some orange juice.)

Well, I'm sick. And so I tried to stay away from people and keep my germs to myself. Yay.

Well... today I gave some friends some back rubs.... they were sitting on my lap. It was a strange dinner...but good.
