Day 243

Saturday. I spent the day reading "A Grief Observed" by C. S. Lewis, which I loved and hated all at once. Loved it because of how real and raw it was. Hated it because of how real and raw it was. Ha. No, but really. It was so intensely honest it was hard to read at times, but good to read.

Also went to the Remedy Drive concert--which was fantastic. While there, I introduced one of my college friends (girl) to a friend that is a senior in high school (boy). She thought he was handsome, it's true....we'll see what happens there. (hehe)

Roomie Date! (Again, I know. We just love each other so much.)

God Bless!

Day 242

Friday! The last day of the first week! Crazy.

Today I gave a ponytail holder to a friend...I'll probably never see it again, such is the way of ponytail holders.

I just saved my roommates head. (Ha. Not actually, but if I had to, I would have.)

My brain just shut off. It's bed time.

God Bless!

Days 240 and 241

Day 240:
First of all, I was able to comfort a friend in the afternoon while she was dealing with some stuff. Sorry about being vague, but it's kind of personal....

It was kind of a busy day.... but our dorm building decorated notebooks to be delivered to freshman halls in David. So I decorated three notebooks and wrote encouraging/wisdom imparting letters for the girls. I even stayed up kind of late to do it.

Day 241:
Today was strange. I took a nap and accidently slept through an interview I had agreed to give. :( I still feel horrible about that.

I may have found a new speaker for the university to have speak to the student body--and that is an exciting prospect.

God Bless!

Day 239

New classes again today. Woo!

I agreed to work only three hours a week--so I gave some other student two paid hours. I hope they cherish their office time in Jesse.

LeAnn and I also had a roomie date, and that was lovely. Nothing says roommate love like some Ben and Jerry's and a movie.

God Bless!

Days 236, 237, and 238

Day 236 (Saturday):
Mom painted the door red--I babysat the process to make sure she was okay. I helped Dad carry more waffle board down to the basement. And I finished my paper for Lisa's class. I went shopping with Mom for school supplies and for homely needs. I went to Jimmy John's when my brother and we watched a movie while we ate at home and Mom and Dad went on a date for their anniversary.

Day 237 (Sunday):
Moving day. I moved in to the dorms. On the ride up, I let Josef sit shotgun in the truck--this never happens and was indeed a big gift. (ha) The rest of the day it kind of a blur...there were lots of hugs, that much is certain.

Day 238 (Monday):
First day of class. It went well--smooth. I popped my head in to see Lisa in the afternoon just to see how she was doing on her first day on campus with students (this year). She was doing well and the decorations in her office were wonderful. The evening was spent sitting with some friends laughing and enjoying ourselves. I missed a roomie date though--and that in inexcusable. :(

God Bless!

Days 232, 233, 234, and 235

I'll be honest, this week is a little fuzzy, and I'm not so sure why...

Day 232 (Tuesday):
Day to Lincoln with the family--and mini daycation, as I like to call it. I bought a bean bag chair for our dorm room with a friend in mind--she likes to visit, and now we'll have a place for her to sit (assuming there is room for said chair.)

Stopped to see Lisa on our way home. That was nice. A pleasure, really.

Day 233 (Wednesday):
This was a bad day. Really. It was the day I got my loans all figured out and tried to figure out my Europe trip payments. This was stress day. This was also the day I got my Etsy account all set up (that was good). Oi.

Day 234 (Thursday):
I helped Dad carry some compression board down to the basement where he has been doing some huge home improvement projects.

I had a meeting with Josh (our church's high school youth pastor). We're putting together a conference, and I'm super excited about it. Basically, I gave to him by taking the project of designing a booklet for the conference off of his plate and onto mine. I'm excited about this project--even if it is going to make for a crazy semester.

Also had a phone date with the beautiful Lisa. I love hearing how my writing has given to her in various ways, and I am incredibly thankful for her insight into the story and the characters. (And the bigger picture.)

Day 235 (Friday/Today):
I went into town with Mom to get stuff to help Dad mount some pictures for the State Fair that were literally due yesterday. I found the adhesive non-tape-tapelike stuff. (I don't know what it was, but yeah.)

I also delivered a bag I made/sold to someone, and that was fun.

Day 231

Yesterday was a day of running errands.

I went to the bookstore with a friend and we picked out Bibles--we're going to be reading through them together. I'm excited for this new chance to delve into the Word.

I also worked on a bag order. Woo!

God Bless!

Day 230

My last Sunday of helping with the Children's Church. We had a new girl in today's class. She was shy, was pushed into the room with tears running down her face by another coordinator. At first I was annoyed at the way Brooke just abandoned Laikin (that is actually the name of this little blonde girl with a haircut reminiscent of what my hair looked like at her age). I went to her and asked if she could sit at the table--answered with an emphatic head shake. I asked her what was wrong, she wanted her Mommy. What ended up happening was her sitting on my lap during story time, and coming to see me when we were done with our lessons.

Took pictures today for my Etsy account--that was fun, and my cousin was an excellent model.

God Bless!

Day 229

Yesterday I worked at the dealership again, and that was all good and fun. Actually, I was pretty bored, but I answered the phones and helped a couple guests talk to someone who could help them even better (which really isn't hard to do since I know nothing).

Right after work I went to my uncles house and painted some more. Woo! I have a headache today--I think the paint fumes are getting to me.

God Bless!

Days 225, 226, 227, and 228

Day 225 (Tuesday):
Went out to lunch with my cousin and paid for her meal as a form of payment for a project she's helping me with. It's good to spend time with her.

After my lunch date, I started painting my uncle's house for him. It was a good start--got the primer put up.

Day 226 (Wednesday):
My brother and I spent the entire day doing things together that he wanted to do. It was the first of our two date-days. Basically, he sponsored the day and I did whatever. We went to see the movie Cowboys and Aliens--it was good.

Day 227 (Thursday):
My roommate came to visit me, and we had a good time. She came over to my uncle's to help with the painting (thank you, LeAnn) and we got a good coat of paint up. We did other stuff too, that was even more fun. (ha)

Day 228 (Friday):
The second day of the Anna-Bud Nub date-days. Today is my day, and so I'm taking Josef out to eat at the local Japanese sushi bar and grill. It's gonna be great.

God Bless!

Day 224

Last day of filling in for Deb at the dealership. I will be going back again on Saturday, but that's just for the hours, not because Deb is on vacation--she doesn't work weekends.

I had some lovely conversations with various people, offering up my tiny tidbits of silly information that isn't important, but is cool.

Worked writing.

God Bless!

Days 221, 222, and 223

Day 221 (Friday):

My first day on the job as a temporary receptionist. It went pretty well. I also had a coffee date with some girlfriends that also went quite well. They both have some health concerns so I was able to talk to them about Shakeology, and that was good. I gave them some free samples to try and information on the product.

Day 222 (Saturday):

My second day on the job. It was slow--painfully slow. But I did a pretty good job, I think. And then I went home to be alone because all my family was off doing various things.

Day 223 (Sunday):

Taught Children's Church in the morning, and it was quite possibly the craziest Sunday yet. Oh. Man. It was good, but the kids were kind of crazy and our craft took longer than I thought it would.

My brother and I ran a quick errand after Church for Mom.

I had another coffee date in the afternoon.

It was a busy weekend, sorry for the lack of postage. I'll get better, someday, I promise.

God Bless!

Day 220

It was GRE day. I got up super early, went to take the test, finished the test, drove home.

And then I let my brain take a break.

For dinner, I cute the pineapple and set the table. I would have helped clear the table, but I was late for a skype-date, so had to dash.

God Bless!

Days 218 and 219

Day 218:
I got a job, temporarily, at a car dealership after I went in for an interview.
The biggest thing is this, even though I had a crazy amount of studying to do, I took time out to go to eat with a friend for her birthday. That in and of itself was a sacrifice, but totally awesome and a lot of fun. While I was at dinner another of our friends started talking to me about God and the Bible and how she was finally a believer. I almost started crying in the restaurant. It was beautiful. She and I are going to be going through the Bible together - a major Bible Study - so we're going to buy matching 1 year Bibles so it's already divided up for us. It should be good.

Day 219:
I had my day of training today, and it was really good.
Other than that, studying, studying, studying.

God Bless!

Days 216 and 217

I've been studying for the GRE this weekend and week, that's why there haven't been any posts.

Day 216: (Sunday)
Taught Children's Church to the K-1st graders, it was good.

Day 217: (Monday)
I met a friend for lunch today and was able to chat about some things going on in her life, and some things going on in my life.

Other than that, it's been studying hardcore.

God Bless!
