I haven't posted because I haven't been home using my own time really. But I'll explain that in a bit. :)
Day 208:
Friday. The day that I packed up my overnight bag and my precious manuscript to go on a short road-trip.
And I drove the hour and 15 to converse with my fellow writers and offer and receive encouragement. The gift of laughter is a beautiful thing--a contagious thing. And when a little girl named Nora learns how to fly with pot-holders, you can't help but smile. 4:30 rolled around all too quickly and I had to leave that farmhouse full of vegetables, love, imagination, creativity, and beauty.
My journey carried me 30 minutes further east, to the home of a dear friend. It was there that spent some much needed time with said friend--loving the food and company and activity.
Day 209:
Saturday. A continuation of Friday. A sleepy friend that was up at least three hours past her bedtime slept soundly while I pulled out the notebook and pen and quietly worked on a story not wanting to disturb her from my nest on the floor. Over two hours I worked away silently. When finally she tumbled out of her dreamscape, we sipped coffee and ate oatmeal over open laptops and books and paper...though neither of us got much accomplished because of our chatty nature when together.
Day 210:
I taught Children's Church today--and vacuumed afterwards due to the mess some little boys made with the crackers. (Never underestimate the mess oyster crackers can make.)
And then followed the usual household chores.
God Bless!
